With a dynamic career in real estate including two decades as a portfolio manager and partner of an institutional private equity business, Bobby founded Shares of New York in 2004, to focus on the management, renovation and sales of homes that Bobby and his partners invested in. Family Comes First

Born and raised in Queens, NY, Bobby is the middle child between two brothers and grew up like many kids of the 70s and 80s did, leaving the house in the morning and returning home only when it was time to eat. Free to explore, Bobby spent hours playing baseball and developed a passion for the sport that has stayed with him to this day. He was recruited to play college baseball at SUNY Albany in 1988. His passion for baseball came full circle in 2018 when he started donating money to the youth sports league he played in as a kid (DAC) and the Queens Parks Department to rehabilitate all of the baseball fields he played on in his childhood. These efforts along with the fact that he has been volunteer coaching on the High School Baseball teams in his current home town since 2014 has led him to become a transaction advisor and partner in Brewster Yards - a 45,000 SF indoor training facility for baseball and softball with nine outdoor turf fields and one multisport field. Bobby's first introduction to real estate came from his father, a man of great integrity and principal, who was a real estate developer. Bobby worked on his construction sites as a day laborer and real estate was the talk around their dinner table.

At 30 years young, Bobby and his wife got married in 2000. They have two beautiful daughters and enjoy raising them in Westchester. Bobby's oldest daughter, Zoe, was injured at 12 years old and as a result, was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. This is why he and his family started a foundation called Zoe's Heroes which raises awareness and funds to help pediatrics suffering from CRPS.

Bobby's ultimate goal is to leave a legacy through Century 21 Shared Purpose by creating an ecosystem where the culture encourages real estate agents to focus on personal passions and causes while executing on their professional purpose and simultaneously making a positive impact on our world.

One Minute Breath Meditation

Bobby has been meditating every day since 1998. This is a commitment - a daily practice - that has led him to mentor others on their meditation journey. One Minute Breath is exactly what it sounds like, Bobby inhales for 20 seconds, holds for 20 seconds and exhales for 20 seconds - essentially, taking one breath a minute. He does this for 31 minutes and has now exceeded over 3,000 days in a row.



There are profound benefits to doing this every day, including heightened intuition and de-stressing - but the most important benefit first comes from connecting with yourself in the moment which then allows you to create space for others and that's when pure empathy and mindfulness comes into play.

After initially committing to doing this for 1,000 days, Bobby is sharing his insights into this powerful meditation with you.

Bobby Gellert boasts a dynamic career in real estate, starting in 1995 with foundational roles as an appraiser and then as a director of marketing and sales of a national investment bank. His vast experience culminates with two decades of allocating and investing private equity capital, specializing in vertical living multi-family assets and the hotel and service industry. Along the way in 2004, Bobby founded Shares of New York, as a service provider to him and his partners handling the management, renovation and sales of residential homes. Beyond his professional endeavors, Bobby is a yogi, devoted family man, married in 2000 and has two daughters. Actively involved in several passion projects and community initiatives, he champions causes such as the Sharing With You public foundation, Zoe's Heroes for pediatrics with chronic pain and Brewster Yards a youth baseball and multisport development in Putnam County. Bobby Gellert embodies a holistic approach to life, merging his worlds and using his professional purpose to fuel his personal passions. As such, he affiliated with Century 21 in 2022 as C21 Shared Purpose to lead this mission-driven real estate business.

A Dream Come True

Being born the middle child of a real estate developer, eventually having a family real estate business was something that Bobby and his brothers dreamt about. In 2004, this became a reality when Bobby made his first investment and purchased 300 coop units (Unsold Shares) in two adjacent cooperatives Le Havre on the Water and Cryder Point. This was nostalgic because Bobby grew up less than 2 miles away and had many school/sport friends that lived in these coops, so he was very familiar. This was when Shares of New York was created to handle the management, renovation and sale of these homes which then led to handling the majority of the residential investments that Bobby and his partners made over the next two decades. Coming full circle, Bobby is back at the helm of the company now operating as Century 21 Shared Purpose with a new vision and new 20 year lease which expires in 2040. Bobby is hoping to leave a great legacy and pass this business on to his two daughters.
